Created by Brussels-based Studio Lemercier (Joanie Lemercier and Juliette Bibasse) in collaboration with electronic musician Murcof, Lightfall invites visitors to surrender to the mesmerizing interaction of earth’s natural elements—air, water and light.

Murcof’s ethereal compositions create an all-encompassing experience as guests, moving through the space, are immersed in the artwork’s sensorial qualities. Plunged into darkness, the artwork is felt before it is seen: a curtain of transparent mist envelops visitors as ever-evolving abstract volumes of light come into view, momentarily suspended in the atomized particles of water.

Seemingly still yet always in motion, Lightfall makes visitors simultaneously aware of the downward rush of water droplets caused by gravity and of the subtle turbulence of air moving through the mist. Throughout the experience, Studio Lemercier constructs layers of movement, textures and sounds, using nature as a medium, rather than a subject.
